Things to do

There is always plenty to do in Port Germein. With safe beaches and fishing on one side and the Southern Flinders Ranges right at our back door.

You can quickly realise a day is not enough time to take in all the town, and the region has to offer.

The beach is super safe for swimming, beach cricket, and kite flying is always on or canoeing is ideal for any age. It provides endless hours of activity for every member of the family, along with the nearby adventure playground.

The keen fisherman knows there’s a good variety of fish just waiting to be caught from a boat, or throw a net off the jetty to catch the blue swimmer crabs we are renowned for.

Tick the bucket list and walk the jetty, enjoy our heritage precinct and local sculpture, mural and mosaic trails.

If you relish being more active there are short walks in and around the town along the beach to the mangroves, plus gorges to explore or hiking and mountain biking in our nearby National Parks.

Take a short drive up the iconic Port Germein Gorge, through our rural district which encompasses iconic gorges, horticulture, viticulture, forests and pioneering history to discover.

The town welcomes visitors and you are encouraged to use the tennis courts or have a roll up at lawn bowls (situated next to the Caravan Park), or not visit our black scrap 18 hole golf course which can be a seasonal challenge. Early birds can exercise on the outdoor gym while enjoying the beach view.
